چکیده

The mechanism of how soil carbon pools change when coniferous forests are converted into conifer-broadleaf mixed is poorly understood. In this study, the impact additional inputs on organic mineralization and microbial communities was evaluated. a microcosm incubation experiment, three types 13C-labeled litter (Pinustabulaeformis (PT), Robiniapseudoacacia (RP), mixture PT RP (1:1, PR)) were added in to top (0–20 cm) deep (60–80 collected from Chinese pine plantation. priming effect (PE) specific groups involved PE studied. addition topsoil induced negative PE. soil, decomposition rates matter (SOM) after adding increased by 16.6% 34.6% compared those without litter. with lower C:N ratio had stronger than or mixture. Moreover, more intense all additions. topsoil, litter-derived mainly incorporated 16:0, 18:1ω9c, 18:1ω7c fatty acids. conclusion, broadleaf plantations might be beneficial for enhancing stocks.

Effects of glyphosate on soil microbial communities and its mineralization in a Mississippi soil.

Transgenic glyphosate-resistant (GR) soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] has enabled highly effective and economical weed control. The concomitant increased application of glyphosate could lead to shifts in the soil microbial community. The objective of these experiments was to evaluate the effects of glyphosate on soil microbial community structure, function and activity. Field assessments on soi...

Differential effects of conifer and broadleaf litter inputs on soil organic carbon chemical composition through altered soil microbial community composition

A strategic selection of tree species will shift the type and quality of litter input, and subsequently magnitude and composition of the soil organic carbon (SOC) through soil microbial community. We conducted a manipulative experiment in randomized block design with leaf litter inputs of four native subtropical tree species in a Pinus massoniana plantation in southern China and found that the ...

Soil microbial responses to nitrogen addition in arid ecosystems

The N cycle of arid ecosystems is influenced by low soil organic matter, high soil pH, and extremes in water potential and temperature that lead to open canopies and development of biological soil crusts (biocrusts). We investigated the effects of N amendment on soil microbial dynamics in a Larrea tridentata-Ambrosia dumosa shrubland site in southern Nevada USA. Sites were fertilized with a NO3...

Soil microbial communities and enzyme activities under various poultry litter application rates.

The potential excessive nutrient and/or microbial loading from mismanaged land application of organic fertilizers is forcing changes in animal waste management. Currently, it is not clear to what extent different rates of poultry litter impact soil microbial communities, which control nutrient availability, organic matter quality and quantity, and soil degradation potential. From 2002 to 2004, ...

Soil microbial community responses to additions of organic carbon substrates and heavy metals (Pb and Cr).

Microcosm experiments were conducted with soils contaminated with heavy metals (Pb and Cr) and aromatic hydrocarbons to determine the effects of each upon microbial community structure and function. Organic substrates were added as a driving force for change in the microbial community. Glucose represented an energy source used by a broad variety of bacteria, whereas fewer soil species were expe...
